humility for february

       Part of my new years resolution was for each month I would choose a characteristic or something I want to work on and this month the month of February the word that God has been pressing on me was humility. This past week the verse in Psalms 149:4 has been running ramped through my brain.

                         "For the Lord takes pleasure in His people;He will beautify the humble with Salvation."

Humility is defined in Noah Webster's 1828 dictionary as a freedom from pride and arrogance; humbleness of mind; a deep sense of unworthiness in the sight of God; act of submission;

That's my goal for this month, to practice and strive to be putting away any prideful thoughts that may arise and take the idea to build and praise others more then self to a higher level and always be pointing and praising my Lord and Savior. The 2nd biggest aspect of humility for me would be to gain a deeper sense of my unworthiness in the sight of God and be humbled by the fact that He came to save me, that He invites me into His presence as a daughter of the King. I as His daughter can come to His feet to praise, pray, thank, confess, asking to be forgiven for my sins and continue to strive to be a reflection of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bringing Him honor and glory in all I do.
