count down begins

Can you believe its two weeks til Christmas!?! It feel like about two years since I posted too. O_o Yipes! What happened? Okay, I know what happened full time job and other responsibilities came up,but I am totally not abandoning this nook on the internet, its mine. Despite my currently messy side bar. ugh. I am a scatter brained work in progress of late. I literally tripped down the stairs face planted into cement and we blood followed. So you see where I am coming from.
But here we are my 2nd southern Christmas I feel like this year its flying by and I am scrambling around with so many things I want to get done by the end of the year, accomplish annnnnd yeah. I am slowly learning about prioritizing and the importance of caffeine (primarily coffee).
Gifts giving and wrapping is a simple pleasure despite a select few people who are just plain hard to buy for!

I thought I would spark some ideas if your still buying and wrapping here on the blog today!

I have a things with themes and gift baskets/crates/or really any kind of holder!
I am a visual person so I have to see, touch etc... in order to be inspired and get ideas.
I could walk around the mall, target etc... with no idea what to get someone and get some ideas by the end!

 -Gift wrapping-
I am a sucker for fun, classic, creative or simplistic wrapping. Pinterest is seriously the best help on this. I love that creatives can share ideas and creations through social media!

fresh pine // Christmas is here

I can hardly believe its the eve of Christmas eve is and its almost 2016! What a great year 2015 has been!:) Celebrating the birth of Christ is very different this year. it was warm and lacking snow when we picked out our tree, it wasn't the family owned business we've been going to since I was little, we didn't ride the horse wagon out to cut our tree, there wasn't hot chocolate. We won't have anyone coming over/home for Christmas. My sister won't be here...BUT! That following Monday we will be heading up to Ohio!! YAY!! Its like an extended Christmas. Hopefully snow pictures will be happening. :P

Christmas tree hunting has to be one of my favorite traditions.
                                                                          Whats yours?

I love giving gifts and I love even more wrapping them. Starbucks may hate Christians, but I love them and their gift cards are the best gifts!

I bought quite a few to mail out this year and just loved all the cute Christmasy designs. Yes, I will forgive them that it says "Happy Holidays." But come on, snow flakes, a mitten, gold happiness. And ITS COFFEE!!!!
What goes better with coffee then a stationary kit and fun packaging stickers!
Thank you Target! (I realllllllly love target!!! :D )

And whats the best gift for families at church?! Some prettiness and yumminess!

                                                            This Cinnamon Banana Bread!

What a Christmas party with an elf movie withut some sugary spaghetti....
Okay, they are cupcakes cause lets be honest that scene in 'Elf' grosses me out and nobody would actually eat really spaghetti with syrup and candy!

What has been your favorite Christmas gifts and projects?

Tuesday love is as good as Monday love

As the Christmas season is upon us my heart has been just made giddy like a little girl again.  All I want I some good old music while snuggled in the cozy, deep red blanket my mom knitted by a fire as it crackles and snaps from the dry wood we would of set outside to make sure its ready to be burned. Sipping and smelling the delicious aroma of hot coco, dolloped with whipped cream whether a book in hand or pinterest pulled up. I look outside the window being inspired as the snowflakes fall softly like a whisper to the rhythm of  "Silent Night" on the red barn.
But truth hits. I am in the heart of Dixie.
My snowflakes and red barn are no longer mine no longer to be seen.
It is December things are brown and when I get off work I walk out in short sleeves.
Thought and inspiration of the day; I need to turn our basement into a winter wonderland.

         1.  quotes.
I am a huge quote girl whether its inspirational or just wondrous.

"Little boys should never be sent to bed, they always wake up one day older." -Peter Pan

"How completely satisfying to turn from our limitations to a God who has none." - AW Tozer

                                                                   2. Water Color.
Its been awhile since I did other forms artistic expression other then photography.
Such a good feeling to create and be inspired.

                                                               3. Christmas cheer
I thoroughly enjoy Christmas! Gift giving is my favorite. I love finding fun creative ways to give little things to people dear to my heart. This year I teamed up with starbucks and nifty little target items that make wrapping and decorating so much for fun!

What has been inspiring you lately?
I would love to hear any of your favorite Christmas Traditions?

5 reason the Christmas season is my favorite

                                                                       12 days until Christmas.
4 days until I am home and can see my wonderful family!!! :)
Even though this is a scheduled post written before Thanksgiving even I can honestly say that Thanksgiving won't/wasn't the same and was very odd not being home. I cannot wait to celebrate with them at my most favorite time of the year!!! :)

Christmas for some reason has always been my favorite season.
I get all giddy when I talk about it!

                                                                      1. the music
Christmas music whether its just instruments or just human voices celebrating this time of year and our saviors birth. I LOVE every bit of and try my absolute best not to sing or listen to it until after Thanksgiving, but I cheat sometimes ;)
(If your looking for an awesome Christmas song check out the link below)
                                           https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9GtPX6c_kg

                                     2.hot chocolate and fires
The fact that I started drinking hot chocolate in the fall is irrelevant to the fact the Christmas season while cozying up by a fire in the fire place and sipping hot chocolate go hand and hand is perfection.

                                      3.Christmas tree farms
I can not even describe how much I love Christmas tree farms!
Bundling up in warm clothes and riding the horse or tractor driven wagon as the snowflakes fall softly, blanketing the earth as the rich smell of the pine trees fills the air.....*sigh*

                              4.gift shopping, wrapping & giving
I usually start gift shopping very early on in fall. There have been times when I've gone out a week or two before Christmas, but I love having it all done by Thanksgiving!
The Bible says the God loves a cheerful giver and I think that plays a lot into gift giving if your not giving cheerfully it takes all the joy out of it.

                                      5.snowflakes and plaid
I'm not sure how, but these two belong together! Snowflakes are seriously the prettiest creation ever, so delicate and unique. I love the fact that no two snowflakes are every alike.
I would wear plaid doesn't belong in summer or spring, but worn in the Christmas season it brings a whole new light to the word cozy!

Christmas Tradition

Christmas is one of my  absolute favorite holidays!!
One of our family traditions is the sibling gift exchange.
As years have gone by and have gotten married we've added both sister and brother in laws into the hat.
We also used to keep who you got for Christmas a secret, but my family isn't very good about not knowing what someone else knows,so one by one we would pester our siblings doing the 'I will tell if you will tell' to find out who was shopping for who. Another challenge has been getting all the siblings in one place to do the name drawing. Summer or fall is usually when it takes place.
This year we did it in September. My sister and brother in law visited in October (after I left :'( )from Sweden we had to do it before then that way they can take gifts back with them that would otherwise cost and arm and a leg to ship.

This year I got my sister Rachel (who lives in Sweden) and even though I wouldn't be able to give it to her in person I had fun shopping for her. Was the easiest Christmas shopping I've done in a while!

- Blue tall mug

- dove dark chocolate (her favorite)

- Hazelnut Coffee (another favorite)

-red nail polish

-knitted gray infinity scarf (for Swedens winters)

A little gift inspiration for you all who are still trying to figure out gifts.
Great thing is if you replace;
 The scarf with a hat.
The chocolate with beef jerky
And
the nail polish with cologne, gloves or a movie.

It could be a great guy gift as well.

Hope you all are having a fantastic December so far.
